Owens was first published in June of 2008, a poetry book titled “After All We Only Ever Listened to The Refrigerator Hum.” A year later, she made an appearance in the Baobob Tree Press Anthology entitled “Recipes For The Apocalypse.” Her most recent addition to bookshelves is in Monkey Puzzle Magazines’ Issue #8, next to John Allen Cassady, Jonathon Montgomery and other fine poets. She is most usually clutching on to either a coffee cup or a cigarette. Currently living in Boulder, Colorado, Emily is working on her newest projects, “The Saints of Manhattan.” A compilation of reflections and conversations with the people and faces of New York City whom have in some shape or form, exceeded their present time expectations, and a (currently untitled) collection of poetry and short stories from the sights and scenes of America. A devout lover of the strange and unexpected, she spends her days wandering around town with her tin cup and satchel with no particular direction, as she follows her feet wherever they happen to lead her.
