this is not an american parody folks

its american history

and we are changing it

because I am not at ellis island

and I do NOT have TB

but I AM downing penicillin

like it was the miracle drug of the early 1900’s

and my foot is slowly losing its capacity

for usage

but that has nothing to do with

 my gland that is filled with stones

or the bandage around my wrist

from the bacon that got away

and made its journey

into mid-air

and i ain’t made of steel

but i can

bring up history

as if any of it had to do

with 

all these

medical conditions

I don’t know the answer to

 

yet.

Like the hindenburg

it was said

“I can not write

under this suppressed manner…”

which would eventually

have lead to an incredible

explosion

making everything

toss history in the wind

for just one moment

as we are forced

to reconcile

with all

previous aircrafts

as nothing “spectacular”

and take in this SHINING moment

of grandeur

as we watch the flames

spark and fly through the air

and 

then,

slowly notice

with fear

as the metal shards

and aircraft particles

begin draping our feet

in the most

unsettling

manner

most 

potentially

ending in

a few hospital visits

and a very low

decline

into something

we could have done

but ultimately decided against

for the sake

of 

American

History.
